A Tuscan Love Story

Inside Roxy Roman's Romantic Tuscan Wedding at La Pescaia

The Proposal

Some weddings carry the kind of romance that feels like it belongs in a film. For this bride, her story began with a modern spark - a swipe on Hinge, and unfolded into a life shared across continents, culminating in a timeless Tuscan celebration.

The proposal was as unexpected as it was cinematic.

“It was a huge surprise! He proposed on a lake in Park City, Utah which is where we fell in love. His sister snuck away and set up a picnic with a trail of rose petals leading up to the proposal location. It was absolutely perfect.”

Park City was more than just a backdrop, it was the place their relationship first started, and where one chapter seamlessly led to the next.

Timeless, Elegant, Feminine...

When it came to the wedding day itself, the couple chose La Pescaia, a 15th-century villa in Tuscany that perfectly embodied their vision of history, beauty, and intimacy.

“We got married in Tuscany at La Pescaia which is a 15th century villa. We decided to have our ceremony under a huge old tree in the villa’s courtyard and proceed to the front of the property for the reception where we all sat at one long table under a tunnel of lights. I wanted the reception to feel like a fairy tale.”

The three words she uses to describe her wedding style, Timeless, Elegant, Feminine, truly came to life in the setting. When it came to the wedding day itself, the couple chose La Pescaia, a 15th-century villa in Tuscany that perfectly embodied their vision of history, beauty, and intimacy. Her bridal style was guided by a vision of vintage refinement. “I wanted to channel old world Italian glamour and the earrings were absolutely perfect with the vintage-inspired silk halter dress.”

Those Christie Nicolaides earrings, bold yet romantic, carried a deeper significance than aesthetics alone.

“The Christie Nicolaides earrings I wore on our wedding weekend were actually a gift from my husband a few years prior. I saw them and loved them so much I sent them to my boyfriend at the time as a ‘hint’ for a birthday gift. Then when I was planning my wedding looks I immediately knew it would be so special to wear a piece of jewelry that was a gift from him.”

The Finer Details

For her, curating her looks across the wedding weekend wasn’t about following trends, but about creating a feeling that was entirely her own.

“Put aside any trends and other people’s opinions and just focus on how you want to feel on the day / weekend. Every look I wore on my wedding weekend made me feel like the best version of myself and for me, that feeling transcends any trend or what is considered ‘in style’. The goal should be to feel beautiful and like yourself and be able look back and channel how you felt on the day.”

For her, curating her looks across the wedding weekend wasn’t about following trends, but about creating a feeling that was entirely her own. That intention made the moment she stepped into her full bridal look especially powerful.

“It was such a surreal feeling and I think about it often. I have never felt so beautiful yet also so much like myself before.”

Of all the memories that day, one lingers most vividly, a moment both grounding and unforgettable.

“Looking out after the ceremony and seeing all of the most important people in my life.”

The result was a wedding that embodied everything we love at Christie Nicolaides: thoughtful details, meaningful jewellery, and a kind of glamour that transcends time.
